The delightful market town of Stow on the Wold is one of the Cotswold’s best known small towns.
Situated alongside the Fosse Way, a Roman built road, Stow on the Wold is steeped in history and its buildings and architecture reflect that past. Finding modern day paving solutions which compliment these important tourist destinations is the challenge facing Amey, Highways Contractor for Gloucestershire County Council.
A Senior Engineer for Amey Gloucestershire, faced with the requirement of providing a decorative Gateway feature for the Pedestrian Improvement Scheme in the town’s Market Place turned to Quicksetts.
Installed and opened to traffic in just one day by the Amey team, the finished Speed Table perfectly compliments its historic surroundings. The initial feedback on the appearance from local residents been very positive. Future schemes are already in the planning following the success of Quicksetts.
